  Advanced Junior Tennis (Nov-Dec) Winter 2009 Program
at the Janesville Athletic Club

 
  • What? This program is under the direction of Lyle Schaefer (a USPTA tennis professional from Madison, Wisconsin. The content of the program is geared to the varsity high school “level” player.
    • (Ages 12 to 18) Stroke fundamentals, movement patterns, shot
      selection, and over-all consistency will be emphasized. In addition, time will be allotted to enhancing the students “tactical" I.Q. through live point play situations.
  • Where? Janesville Athletic Club in Janesville, Wisconsin
    • (1301 Blackbridge Road)
  • When? Starting Sunday, November 15th, 2009 (1 to 3 pm).. AND.. 2nd program (3 to 5pm)
    This session will be a 5 week long program… Last day will be December 13th, 2009

  Advanced Junior Tennis (Jan-Mar) Winter 2010 Program

  Girls' High School Tennis Spring Program
(SPRING 2010)
 
  • Who? High School high J.V. to Varsity level tennis players.
  • What? This program will be under the supervision and direction of Lyle Schaefer. The content of the program is geared to the high J.V. to Varsity high school level player. Stroke fundamentals, movement patterns, shot selection, and over-all consistency will be emphasized. In addition, time will be allotted to enhancing the students “tactical I.Q
    through live point play situations.
  • When? Mondays and Wednesdays starting on April 19th (Monday)… For five weeks
  • Time? 4:15 to 5:30pm.

  • What?       This will be an intensive 90 minute quality instructive program. A typical menu for the day’s program would be high performance drills to promote speed and explosive movements to the ball and recovery. Then plan on some work to improve the small muscles that control the racket for better precision and placement. We wrap up the early workout with points and game play situations. 
  • Where?     Keva Indoor Sports Center, Middleton, 8312 Forsythia Street (across from municipal airport)

  • What?       This mini-camp is specifically designed and geared toward preparing local boys high school team players for the up-coming 2010 season.  The program will be directed by Lyle Schaefer with the help of several associate coaches. Some of the time will be devoted to drills specific to match play situations. There will be point play that simulates the “great outdoors” of our Wisconsin spring boys’ season. We will try to get you ready for the challenges of playing “the elements”. Both singles and doubles tactics will be covered and a good deal of match play to wrap up each day.
  • Where?     Outdoor site to be determined   
  • When?      March 22nd to 26th, 2010 (Monday to Friday; 4:30pm to 6:00pm) Saturday will be a back-up day if the weather becomes too inclement.  ONE WEEK CAMP only.
